GLAA (Gangmasters and Labour Abuse Authority) is a UK government agency that issues licences to agencies that supply workers. According to GOV.UK, such a licence is most likely needed by an agency that recruits people for agriculture, horticulture, shellfish gathering, or food processing and packaging. If you are offered work on a farm, in a greenhouse or at a food factory in the UK through an agency, check its licence on the official GLAA website. How to use it safely: • Check the address in your browser's address bar: scammers make copies of official websites with similar addresses. It is safer to type the address yourself than to follow a link from a message. • Even on an official portal, job ads are posted by the employers themselves. Check the company in your country's government register and do not pay strangers for "processing", "reserving a place" or a "visa". • If an ad asks you to write only via Telegram or WhatsApp, promises a salary much higher than usual and asks for an upfront payment, these are signs of fraud.
