Workinnorway.no is the official website of the Norwegian public authorities for foreigners who want to work in Norway. It is run jointly by NAV, the Tax Administration, the Directorate of Immigration, the Labour Inspection Authority and the police. It explains how to look for work, which permits you need, how to register with the tax office and what rights workers have. Do not confuse it with "Work in Norway" ads on job websites — this name is often used by unrelated parties. How to use it safely: • Check the address in your browser's address bar: scammers make copies of official websites with similar addresses. It is safer to type the address yourself than to follow a link from a message. • Even on an official portal, job ads are posted by the employers themselves. Check the company in your country's government register and do not pay strangers for "processing", "reserving a place" or a "visa". • If an ad asks you to write only via Telegram or WhatsApp, promises a salary much higher than usual and asks for an upfront payment, these are signs of fraud.
