On 11 August 2026, the Central Bank of Ireland officially warned that a clone operating under the names "Barclays Private Bank" and "Barclays Ireland Limited" has copied the name, address and registration details of the real licensed bank Barclays Bank Ireland plc (C36964) in order to deceive people. It is not authorised to provide banking or investment services in Ireland, and the real bank has nothing to do with it. The warning was updated on 25 September and 5 October 2026.
